Phyrexia: All Will Be One Promos (PONE) Guide

By Kim HildeqvistUpdated

The Phyrexia: All Will Be One Promos set (set code: PONE) collects the promotional cards distributed around the launch of Phyrexia: All Will Be One (ONE) in early 2023. These cards aren't found in booster packs - they're rewards for showing up to events, supporting your local game store, or picking up special bundles. If you've ever wondered exactly which promo comes from which event, this is the breakdown.

Promo variants and how to get them

Phyrexia: All Will Be One's promotional programme is one of the more varied ones in recent memory, covering everything from prerelease stamped rares to Phyrexian-language collector pieces.

Prerelease promos

The prerelease promo follows the standard modern template: a date-stamped card that can be any rare or mythic rare from the main Phyrexia: All Will Be One set. Every player at a prerelease event gets one, so the specific card you walk away with is a matter of chance.

Universal promo pack

Cards from the ONE universal promo pack were distributed at other organised play events around the set's release window. These packs contain alternate-treatment versions of select cards and are handed out through participating local game stores.

Buy-a-Box and Bundle promos

Two retail purchase promos were attached to ONE:

  • Buy-a-Box: An alternate-art printing of Green Sun's Twilight, available when purchasing a booster box from a participating store.
  • Bundle: A foil alternate-art Karumonix, the Rat King, included inside the standard Bundle product.

Compleat Bundle

The Compleat Bundle - a premium version of the standard Bundle - included a particularly striking promo: a Phyrexian-language printing of Phyrexian Arena. The card's text is rendered entirely in the in-world Phyrexian script, which makes it a genuine collector piece for fans of the lore.

Store Championship promos

Phyrexia: All Will Be One marks a notable structural change for organised play: Store Championship events officially replaced Game Day beginning with this set. Three tiers of Store Championship promo were available:

| Finish | Promo Card | |---|---| | Participation | Full-art Annex Sentry | | Top 8 | Memory Deluge | | Winner | Koth, Fire of Resistance |

The winner promo for Koth is particularly sought after - it's one of the set's marquee planeswalkers, and the promo treatment makes it a genuine trophy card.

30th Anniversary promos

Four promos were distributed as part of Magic's broader 30th Anniversary celebration during the ONE release window:

  • Kor Haven
  • Italian Vindicate
  • Exalted Angel
  • Temple of the False God

The Italian Vindicate is a deliberate callback to the original Italian Apocalypse printing, which has a long history of being considered a collector's curiosity.

Commander Party promo

The Commander Party event promo for this period was Norn's Annex - a flavourful choice given that the set is set entirely on New Phyrexia under Elesh Norn's rule.

Special and regional products

Beadle & Grimm's: Behold New Phyrexia

A premium lifestyle product called Behold New Phyrexia was released by Beadle & Grimm's on February 18, 2023, timed to coincide with ONE. It's a Phyrexian-themed collector's set containing:

  • A Phyrexian-themed artifact deck box designed to evoke The Fair Basilica
  • An in-world Phyrexian language translation journal
  • Four alloy d10 life counters
  • 130 Elesh Norn-themed card sleeves
  • A limited-print foil Mental Misstep in Phyrexian language, with art by Erica Yang

That last item is worth calling out specifically - a foil Phyrexian-language Mental Misstep is a genuinely unusual object, and the limited print run makes it one of the harder-to-find pieces of ONE-era memorabilia.

Regional poison counter promotion

Stores in Germany, Austria, France, and Italy ran a special play-and-purchase promotion. Players who attended a Magic event and purchased €75 of ONE sealed product received a physical poison counter: a green ten-sided die with the Phyrexian symbol replacing the number ten. Thematic, functional, and very on-brand for a set built around the poison mechanic.

Tokens, emblems, and markers

While not part of PONE directly, the ONE token suite is worth knowing if you're sleeving up any of these promo cards for Commander or other formats. The main set features 12 tokens, 1 emblem, and 1 marker type, covering both Mirran and Phyrexian creature types:

  • 1/1 Phyrexian Mite artifact creature with toxic 1 and "can't block" - the most common token in the set, produced by a wide range of cards
  • 3/3 Phyrexian Beast with toxic 1
  • 1/1 Phyrexian Goblin
  • 2/2 Rebel creature - representing the Mirran resistance
  • 2/2 Drone artifact creature with deathtouch and a life-swing trigger, for Kaito, Dancing Shadow
  • The Hollow Sentinel, a 3/3 legendary Phyrexian Golem for Venser, Corpse Puppet
  • An emblem for Koth, Fire of Resistance
  • A poison counter marker (available in Draft and Set Boosters)

For the Japanese market, six additional tokens with alternate art were made available.

Lore aside: The physical poison counter dice from the European promotion and the in-pack poison counter markers both serve the same mechanical purpose - tracking one of ONE's central mechanics. Having a themed d10 for it is a nice touch.

The List and Universes Within

ONE's version of The List introduced the Universes Within versions of the eight cards from the Secret Lair Drop Series: Street Fighter. These rebranded versions reimagine the Street Fighter characters as natives of Dominaria, giving them Magic-native identities while preserving the underlying card designs.

Welcome Booster

The ONE Welcome Booster contains ten fixed cards - every copy is identical - featuring a curated sample of legendary creatures, planeswalkers, rares, foils, and showcase cards. A few cards in the Welcome Booster don't appear in the main ONE set at all; they retain their original expansion symbols, and this printing has no effect on their format legality. The booster also includes three double-sided helper cards (numbered 1-24, marked with an A) covering how to get started and find stores, plus an MTG Arena code for the Sneak Squad deck.

Set context: Phyrexia: All Will Be One

For players coming to these promos fresh: Phyrexia: All Will Be One is set entirely on New Phyrexia, the plane formerly known as Mirrodin. The Phyrexians have completed their conquest, and the set follows the last desperate resistance of the Mirran survivors alongside a group of planeswalkers attempting to stop Elesh Norn's plans from spreading beyond the plane. The set's mechanical identity centres on oil counters, the toxic and corrupted keywords, and the returning proliferate mechanic - all of which tie directly into the poison-counter theme that runs through the promos, tokens, and even the regional dice promotion.
